Australian building code requires that any building over 500 square meters must contain a Fire Hydrant, and they should only be used by trained officers from the fire brigade.

They commonly consist of two pieces, one above ground and the other below ground, and like other Fire Protection Equipment, fire hydrants need regular maintenance and inspection.

We inspect, maintain and install Fire Extinguishers to AS2444 requirements

Our Certified Service Technician can also able to help with AS1851, which is the Australian Standard for Fire Equipment servicing intervals.

Buildings should have an adequate number of fire extinguishers, with reliable escape routes should certain exits get blocked.  All Fire Extinguishers should be visible and in a highly accessible location that has no obstructions.

We design, print and install building evacuation diagrams

Its mandatory for all Australian workplaces to have a fire evacuation diagram.  It provides emergency and evacuation information for occupants and visitors.

It should clearly detail exit routes from you current location and assembly areas to comply with Australian Standard 3745-2010.  The layout should include doors, walls, and often external elements with a compass.  Can also include the location of fire equipment such as Fire extinguishers and first aid kits.

Evac diagrams should be displayed on something at least the size of A4 or bigger, between 1200 and 1600mm above the floor where occupants/visitors are able to view them.

We install sprinkler systems

Fire sprinkler systems can be a good invested to protect your business or home from fire.  There are different types of systems, but they all should be up to Australian Standards AS 2118.

These systems are typically activated by an automatic trigger such as an increase in temperature or a detection from a smoke sensor.  Over 96% of fires have been controlled in buildings which had fire sprinkler systems installed.

All sprinkler systems should meet basic requirements such as a reliable supply of water, working control valves, non-corroded pips and sprinkler heads.

Fire Doors are designed to reduce fire spreading between different compartments within a building.

The door and the frame should be air tight and made from fire-resistant materials. They are not always non-combustible, but they are rated by the number of hours they can resist a fire.

Its important that fire doors are fitted correctly and checked regularly for any gaps.

Normal testing of RCD’s is performed by two electricians at the switchboard. Even though you have an extra person on site, this test is faster and costs less to complete the legislative requirements than a standard Electrical Test and Tag.

Some states have rules that override the AS3760 standard and allow for RCD testing to take the place of Electrical Test and Tag.

We install and test Smoke Alarms to Australian Standard AS3786
